Naviscan, Inc. develops, manufactures and markets organ-specific molecular imaging scanners that provide high-resolution images of abnormal tissue in small body parts. Compact, mobile and easy to use, the Naviscan PEM scanner is a high-resolution PET scanner that produces molecular tomographic images of lesions at 2 mm resolution, allowing physicians to visualize breast tumors about the width of a grain of rice. This enables physicians to precisely characterize abnormal tissue, optimizing surgical planning, monitoring response to therapy, and evaluating suspected recurrence. The breast PET application of the PEM scanner is also referred to as Positron Emission Mammography (PEM).
